Easter centerpiece in a pinch
Tomorrow’s Easter dinner at my house just went from a party of four and a half to a party of eight and a half. When it was just my parents joining us, I wasn’t too concerned about setting a nice table. Now that there are in-laws involved, I need to step it up a notch.

I’ve seen all the cute Peeps centerpieces on Pinterest, but I don’t have: two perfectly concentric nesting vases, tons of jelly beans, perfect fresh-cut flowers or time to get these things. What I do have is a convenience store down the street that sells Peeps and has a pop-up flower market in the parking lot. Done.

  • One trifle bowl or similarly sized vessel (mine is Pampered Chef)
  • Three boxes of Peeps (actually 32 Peeps. Eat the extras or pawn them off on someone who actually likes Peeps.)
  • One basic potted tulip from a convenience store, grocery store, flower market, etc.

Sure, the ones with the jelly beans and gerbera daisies on Pinterest are cuter, but this one’s good enough for me.
