Every year, on or around Hans Christian Andersen’s birthday (April 2), International Children’s Book Day (ICBD) is celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children’s books.
My favorite children’s book was Shel Silverstein’s book of poems, Where the Sidewalk Ends. There used to be a waiting list at my elementary school library to take that book out. No lie.
